Callyn Joy

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life!"
-Proverbs 13:12
Every good and perfect gift is from above!
Beautiful Thomas girls!
Words can not even begin to describe how happy our hearts have been today! We praise God for his provision in our lives and for bringing sweet Callyn here safe and sound and for protecting Paige. There have been so many emotions that we have had throughout this little baby's journey here. Tears of sadness and sorrow were turned into tears of joy and thanksgiving. We are in awe of the God we serve and the blessings that can only come from Him! I have so much more on my heart and will surely update this weekend when we get to meet her. We can't wait! Oh the Marvelous Light!

Today I had to experience yet another difficult time in my job. I went to a memorial service honoring sweet Jon, one of my patients that was an incredible influence and impact on all that knew him. He probably lived a more purposeful life in 17 years than most of us ever will. His humble heart that served Jesus was an amazing site to witness and in spite of all the pain and suffering that his awful leukemia brought, he never complained or cried out to God in anger and saw it simply as a trial in life that he would endure. I love his sweet family and they have all impacted me more than I can express. It makes me stop and evaluate my life very carefully for what do I have to complain about and what in my life makes me too busy to stop and acknowledge Christ's incredible grace and honor Him in all that He continually provides me. Although it hurts our human hearts to grieve this loss, I am fully confident of where he is and hope to see him again... Take a minute today to thank God for His amazing provision of sending Christ to conquer death so that we may have eternal life with Him.

This song came to mind today and I think it truly paints the pictures for what we have in store for us as believers.

Marvelous Light
By Charlie Hall

Into marvelous light I'm running
Out of darkness, out of shame
By the cross, You are the Truth
You are the Life, You are the Way

I once was fatherless
A stranger with no hope
Your kindness wakened me
Wakened me from my sleep
Your love it beckons deeply
A call to come and die
By grace now I will come
Take this life, take Your Life

Sin has lost its power
Death has lost its sting
From the grave You've risen
Victoriously!!!!

Into marvelous light I'm running
Out of darkness, out of shame
By the cross, You are the Truth
You are the Life, You are the Way

My dead heart now is beating
My deepest stains now clean
Your breath fills up my lungs
Now I'm free, now I'm free
My dead heart now is beating
My deepest stains now clean
Your breath fills up my lungs
Now I'm free, now I'm free

Lift my hands and spin around
See the light that I have found
Oh, the marvelous light, the marvelous light!!

Sic 'Em Bears!!!

This week's posting over at Kelly's Korner is our favorite teams and of course our fav is the Baylor Bears!! College was a lot of fun and even though we weren't always the winning team (specifically with football), the tradition and cheering on our Bears was so much fun! The fraternities around campus always provided the tailgating food and we would arrive at Floyd Casey Stadium early to get our burgers and get ready for the game. We will always wear our green and gold with pride and I love that Colby and I met there and that some of my best memories with friends were at Baylor! We're hoping for all the best this season, even without RGIII...sad!

The Beautiful Floyd Casey!
The Gold Rush...so the student section is full of gold pride. This is my great friend Morgan before one of the games, probably my Jr. year? When you're a freshman, you wear your Baylor Line jersey and all the freshman run onto the field to form the tunnel for the players...unfortunately I didn't have a digital camera yet my freshman year and I'm not up for the scanning...praise the Lord for technology! :)My Senior year, we celebrated an exciting win over the Aggies. Everyone rushed the field and some people carried the goalpost all the way to the center of campus, where it stayed for a week! Ha!
My old roomies Meg and Celeste last year at a game, we stil love going, especially as alumni! :)Meg & hubby Graeme and Colb and meAnd just in case you were unsure of where our loyalties lie, here's at our wedding reception on Colby's grooms cake table! :)Ehhhh.....................Sic 'Em Bears!!!!!!!
Of course said with your right hand raised in a perfect bear claw! :)
