Friday we had several friends from Colby's class over for a taco bar and margaritas. We had a great time getting to know everyone better and feel very blessed by the friends we have met here. We played several rounds of our favorite game Oodles and it got pretty intense with a bunch of med students. I was amazed at how quickly the answers were given. I couldn't help but think of Wendy when she confidently gave the wrong answer Buenos Dias when it was supposed to be Bon Voyage. haha- goodness I miss her!

Happy Birthday Celeste!

I love my Rocky puppy
Ok, so I have to share these super cheesy photos. I was at Target about a month ago and saw a cute t-shirt that said I love Rocky on it. They are clearly talking about the boxer, and he's ok too, but I can't help but love MY Rocky. It was $10 so I couldn't justify getting it and I thought that Colby would make fun of me. So I decided to ask for it for Christmas. My mom told me that she couldn't find it at the Abilene Target. Then I was at Target the other day and didn't see it in the same place that I had seen it before, so I figured it was a no go until I saw it on the clearance rack!!! You all know me...a bargain seeker, so I was thrilled and brought it home for $5! So I love my t-shirt and love my Rocky even more! Here's our photo shoot.

007 Date Night
Friday I got Colby out of the house to go out to dinner with several of his med school friends in Sundance Square. We celebrated Nick's birthday with a dinner at Cabo Grande. I enjoyed getting to meet several of his other classmates. Afterward we went to see Quantum of Solace which was an action packed movie. I enjoyed it, but then again I haven't seen any of the other bond movies, so I was a bit lost. However, getting to spend time with Colby was priceless. The weather is starting to get cold, which I'm not a fan, but I do love getting to sleep with lots of covers and bundle up next to Colb. I worked the rest of the weekend, but get several days off this week!

Sick :(
I've been feeling bad this past week, but didn't want to go to the doctor so I did all the remedies I knew of until I had to give in. Just like a nurse, huh? I ended up having strep throat, so I'm on antibiotics and finally feeling better today. It's been an uneventful weekend in my pajamas, with Colby studying for a big Neurology exam tomorrow, but he did make me some chicken noodle soup on Friday night. When I say 'make' I mean dumped it out of a can, but it was perfect, especially since I didn't have to get off the couch to eat it! My friend Nadine from San Antonio came to visit yesterday which was wonderful to see her, but sad that I was feeling bad. We had already planned it a few weeks ago and couldn't have predicted being sick, but overall it was great to see her! But the good news is that I'm caught up again with blogging! :)

McDodi Farm
Saturday night we went out to McDodi Farm where one of the doctors on faculty opened up his ranch for a med school get together. Thankfully Colby had just finished up a round of tests, so we got to go out and cowboy up for a little while. It was a lot of fun riding horses, roasting hotdogs and smores. I'm really enjoying getting to know the other wives and families, it is a perfect support group and really encouraging b/c we are all in the same place in life.

Candyland
Here are my pictures from Halloween night at work. The night shift did the theme of Candyland. It was really cute. We had our Candyland sign just like the gameboard and put construction paper on the floor like a gameboard. I think the kids really like it. I was Lolly the lollipop princess, my costume was fun, but still practical to be able to do nursing stuff. It was a crazy busy night, but I'm glad I was working with fun girls!
